Don't know how you'd get oil in the airbox. Did you just put a K&N air filter in? The first couple times I rode after installing the Xtreme air box with a K&N, I got some oil but that's because the filter is treated with oil and the excess will blow out. Other than that, I don't see how that could happen. There are no oil lines close by unless you're having oil blow by from somewhere else.

 

The crankcase vents into the air box so if you have a blow-by issue with the rings or you over fill the oil you could find alot. A little would be common. check the breath drain just below the airbox.

 

The smallest amoung and pretty old looking. Probably left over from the K&N install a few months back. Thanks for the feedback.

 

If the oil is very clean or clear, there's a good chance that it is from the K&N filter. I have a small bit at the bottom of my airbox which is from the oil on the filter.

 

Not uncommon to see a little. Gases build up inside the crankcase and vent in the air box so they can be pulled in and burned. Alot would indicate more serious problems. I doubt you have that. I usually clean it out when I clean and charge the air filter.
